Users of ProCampaign v7.0 are informed about relevant data protection issues by means of a specific information leaflet. They are provided with a detailed data protection concept in German language on request. ProCampaign's functionality is described in an elaborate and comprehensible manner in the ProCampaign user manual. 


ProCampaign v7.0 facilitates its privacy-compliant use. However, responsibility for the processing of personal data by means of ProCampaign lies with the users who qualify as controllers whereas Consultix acts as a processor on behalf of its customers.


ProCampaign is a web based application to support users' Customer Relationship Management (CRM). By means of ProCampaign, personal data of end customers (consumers) are processed for market analysis, customer loyalty and marketing campaign purposes.

End customer data may be transferred by users to ProCampaign via a data entry interface. Furthermore, use of additional interfaces allows for end customers entering data directly in ProCampaign (e.g., by means of completing a form on the user's website).

Several new functionalities were added to ProCampaign since its initial certification in February 2012. For that reason, the re-evaluation was in fact partly a new initial evaluation. In addition to the functionalities that were already covered by the initial certification, the target of evaluation of the current recertification includes the following functionalities:

  • Surveys
  • Messaging (via email (already part of the initial certification) and SMS (new))
  • Multivariate testing
  • Best send time optimization
  • Link tagging
  • Statistics
  • Direct Query
  • Couponing
  • Geolocalisation (identification of customers who live within or in the vicinity of a specific zip code area)
  • Ratings & Reviews
  • OAuth2 interface

The focus of ProCampaign is on the so-called permission marketing: It supports the obtaining and management of end customers' consent to the processing of personal data for the above-mentioned purposes. ProCampaign is capable of storing end customers' consent (opt-in) or objection (opt-out), thereby distinguishing between different communication channels (e.g., email, phone).

Target of Evaluation (ToE) is ProCampaign v2.0 (function as provided in February 2012). The ToE includes the following functionalities:

  • Obtaining and management of end customers' consent
  • Assignment of registration numbers
  • Deduplication of records
  • Exclusion of certain end customers
  • Data cleansing
  • Resource analysis
  • Data selection
  • ProComplaint (input mask for complaint management)

The ToE does not include the following optional features of ProCampaign:

  • Check and correction of name and postal address
  • Mover check
  • Designation of most valuable consumer
  • Detection and investigation of violations of terms and conditions
